Mimi Kirk’s talents and interpersonal skills brought her into numerous jobs and careers. She had a stint as a Las Vegas showgirl, and was the stand-in for Mary Tyler Moore in the hit sitcom The Mary Tyler Moore Show. She designed, and created the clothes and jewelry for Valerie Harper including the popular scarf motif that became so popular on the Rhoda series. Mimi also worked in front of the camera in numerous TV and films during the 70’s and early 80’s including an original Star Trek episode.
After leaving the entertainment industry, Kirk opened her own national jewelry manufacturing business, then after becoming interested in personal growth, she sold her company and became the regional marketing director for a company that delivered self-improvement seminars. She later became executive assistant and charity events coordinator for a private family, and sat on the board of several nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles. Kirk was the founder, editor, and publisher of an environmental newspaper, The City Planet, in Los Angeles.
Mimi Kirk is the inventor of four board games that are currently sold worldwide; Cowgirls Ride the Trail of Truth, a board game for women 18-118; Cowgirls for teenage girls ages 12-17; The Relationship Game: Which includes The Little Book of Love, for couples and singles, and Big Happy Vacation: A Game of Family Discovery for parents and children ages 5-12. Kirk’s first book Cowgirl Spirit was released March 2001. For 13 years, she has owned and operated Side Saddle, L.L.C. a company that manufacturers and sells vintage cowgirl themed products around the world,
In August 2009 Mimi won a nation wide contest conducted by PETA, and was named the Sexiest Vegetarian Over 50. She was the oldest contestant and weeks away from her 71st birthday. Mimi’s been interviewed by NBC, KUSI, and Fox. Kirk has appeared twice on national TV, The Doctors, and been interviewed by countless newspapers, magazines and online blogs. She is known around the world and has appeared on the cover of Get Fresh, a UK magazine, LUX a Portuguese magazine, and EVA a Bulgarian magazine. Kirk was interviewed by RTL, Germanys largest TV station, and a Bulgarian TV show. She appeared in a documentary called Eternal Youth to be released this year, and is scheduled to appear in another film documentary in April.
Mimi is the Author of LIVE RAW, Raw Food Recipes for Good Health and Timeless Beauty, which will be published in other languages this year. She lectures, films weekly YouTube videos, manages her large online social network and is passionate about helping others learn more about eating healthier.
Kirk is the mother of 4 and grandmother of 7. She loves traveling and lives in Ramona with her boyfriend of 9 years.
